Thanksgiving

We had a busy, but wonderful Thanksgiving. We started the holiday with the birth of our very 1st nephew on Wednesday! Chase Patton Wilson joined the family at 9lbs 3oz! We're so excited that Landon will have a boy cousin so close in age. With three older nieces already in the family the boys are going to have to stick together! Early the next morning we drove to Bastrop to spend Thanksgiving Day at my mom's house. It was just an overnight trip, but as always, was packed with excitement...including a midnight Walmart run for black Friday deals. (yes, it was insane.) We came back the next day so Darren could work on Saturday, then celebrated with extended family in Muenster the next day. We're so thankful for the many wonderful things in our life! We're blessed to have our health, an awesome family & of course our sweet little boy!

I took yesterday off & we went to see the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord Texan Hotel. We met some friends there who live down the street from us. They have a daughter (Natalie) who's just a little older than Landon. This year's theme was Charlie Brown Christmas and once again I was amazed at the detailed carvings. Last year Landon had just started walking & we made the mistake of going the Monday before Christmas when it was crowded. This year was soooo much more relaxed & enjoyable! There was hardly anyone there for ICE so we could take all the time we wanted looking at the sculptures, taking pictures & sliding down the ice slides. Landon was excited at the idea of going down the slide (they have one for toddler age kids), but once he realized he was going down by himself he cried the rest of the way down. Other than that he didn't seem bothered by the cold & was happy to walk around in a floor-length parka. We took in the sights of the hotel afterwards & the kids had a great time looking at the elaborate displays & watching the many electric trains they have set up.

We drove over to Dallas afterwards to visit Chase, Brenda & big sister Alex. Landon & Alex had fun playing together while Darren & I took turns snuggling Chase & catching up with Brenda. What a fun day!

We used our old camera inside due to the extreme temps, so the pictures weren't that great.

Landon threw a penny into his first wishing well! (Then turned around, put his hand out & said 'more!'

He's been excited to see Santa on tv lately.
